  • Search / Find Tracks ...: Enter your search terms and find tracks in the music library
  • Drop-down list: Select a station from among your stations in your Rapid
  • Add Track: Select the blue button to add a track to the music library

When you have added tracks to your Music Library, you will see that tracks in the music library table are listed by title and artist.

Select a track from the list and observe more information about the chosen track.

As you review the information about the chosen track, you have controls to delete the track or edit the track:

At the top of the Music Library page, you will find three tabs for filtering the library: Matched | Unmatched | Ignored

tab, Matched

Familiarize yourself with the layout of the tabs in the Music Library | Matched

Matching rules used by Rapid

  • These rules list the incoming data for a particular track
    • For example, if Rapid receives a track from the automation system with a title field of “24K Magic” and an artist field of “Bruno Mars”, then Rapid will use this particular entry in the Music Library and update the text that will be published (if necessary)
  • A user can add multiple matching rules for a given entry/track in the Music Library

Matched | This tab shows the user a list of the tracks that have been matched: either automatically by Rapid or manually by the user.

tab, Unmatched

Familiarize yourself with the layout of the tabs in the Music Library | Unmatched

Unmatched: This tab shows the user a list of the tracks that Rapid hasn’t been able to automatically match.

Buttons

  • Ignore: Select this button to manually assign the track to the Ignored tab
  • Match: Select this button to manually assign the track to the Matched tab

NOTE
Typically you would move an item into the "Ignore" section if you know it's not going to be possible to ever match the track. By doing this, the Unmatched section only ever contains unmatched items that require your intention.
Alternatively, if the track is not going to be repeated by the playout system then you can just delete the track.

tab, Ignored

NOTE
This feature requires the TiVo(R) Music Metadata service to be enabled

Viewing the search results

  • If the list of tracks displayed at the bottom of the dialog doesn’t include the one you want, you can try changing the search terms by changing the title, artist, and other fields in this dialog and run the search again
  • As you view the list of available tracks returned by AIM’s Music Lookup Service, consider your options
    • If the one you want to use is there, then select the track of interest and then select the blue button with the name “Continue”. You will be presented with more dialogs. Eventually, you will be returned to the “Add a track” dialog with various details populated for this chosen track.
    • If the one you want to use is not there, then run the search again by changing the title and artist fields and select the button named “Search”.

Advanced Fields
Beyond the search, continue in the dialog named “Add a track | tab, Track Details”: scroll down beyond the field for the image and select the button named Advanced Fields.

  • Fine tune the entry for the track of interest with these extra fields.

For your track of interest, key in the information for the advanced fields:

  • Composer
  • Conductor

Stations

In the dialog named “Add a track”, select the tab named Stations.

Select the stations (and/or station groups) that will broadcast the track of interest.

Matching Rules

In the dialog named “Add a track”, select the tab named Matching Rules.

Select the button named (+ Add Rule) to add matching rules.

For each rule, enter the values for the Title, Artist, and optionally Album fields that are received from a playout system feed and that will trigger this entry in the Music Library.

Insights for Matching Rules
For a given track, consider the matching rule that is automatically added after the track is chosen for the Music Library.
After selecting a track from the search results, view the details for the chosen track and consider the given Matching Rules.

Matching Rules

  • A matching rule is used to match incoming title/artist/album fields from a playout system feed with the relevant entry in the Music Library
    • So, if the playout system feed sends title=“One” and artist=“U2” and you want to display these track details when that happens, add a matching rule with a title of “One” and an artist of “U2”
  • If you select a track from the search results, then a matching rule will automatically be added
    • For example, if the playout system feed sends an item with title=“One”, artist=“U2”, and Album=“One” then the fields for this track will be published

NOTE
If a playout system feed doesn’t send any Album information, and just sends title=“One” and artist=“U2” then this music track entry will still be used.

Save the Track

After filling in the information for all three tabs in the dialog named “Add a Track”, confirm that all tabs no longer showcase a red icon.

Select the blue Save button to add/use your track of interest in the Music Library.

Return to the Music Library

After saving your new tracks, return to the Music Library.

  • If you want to edit an existing track in the music library, then select a track of interest from the list and access the dialog named “Edit track”
  • There are three methods to access the dialog named “Edit track”
    • Select a track from the list on the left side of the page and then select the Edit button on the right side of the page for the chosen track
    • Select the edit option from the overflow menu (that is, for the track of interest, select the vertical ellipsis and then select Edit)
