Content Library Setup

In this article, you will find the essential information you need for understanding the setup of the content library in Rapid.
You will only see the Content Library Setup if you have admin privileges.

Content Library Setup

In this article, the action sequence for setting up folders in the Content Library will be presented.

In the navigation menu, under the group for CONTENT, select the link for Content Library.
On viewing the Content Library for the first time, you will see two tabs:

  • Content Folders
  • Folder Setup & Admin

Select the tab named "Content Folders".

NOTE
On a clean/new install of Rapid, Content Folders will not showcase any folders.
In this example, folders have already been added.

Adding items to a folder is explained in the article for Content Library.
In your plans for setting up your Content Library, consider:

  • Adding folders
  • Changing the names of folders
  • Deleting folders

Select the tab named "Folder Setup & Admin".

NOTE
On a clean/new install of Rapid, Content Folders will not showcase any folders.
In this example, folders have been added.

Familiarize yourself with the layout of the user interface for the tab named Folder Setup & Admin.

  • Later: to add a folder to your Content Library, select the blue button.
  • And: to commit your changes to the broadcast, select the green button.

For the chosen folder, the fields that describe the items in the folder of interest are presented as text fields and an optional image field.

  • You can edit the chosen folder (and its fields)
  • You can delete the chosen folder

For some folders, the lightning bolt indicates triggered content.

Adding a Folder

To add a folder to your Content Library, select the blue button --- (+ Add Folder) --- and observe/consider the dialog named Add Folder.

Key in the details and make your selections for your new folder:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Display Content Triggers: Triggering applies to the entire folder and if enabled then all items in the folder will need to have a trigger set.

  • Minimum Re-Use Interval for Content Items: If enabled, items in this folder won't be repeated on a particular output more often than the value set in this field. If you would like items in this folder to only be active when a certain show is on air or certain content has been received from the automation system, then enable this option.

  • Default Duration for Content Items: If enabled, key in the value for days, hours, minutes, seconds.

  • Text Fields Scroll down the dialog and find the field for Text Fields.

Text Fields: Select the Edit button to open the dialog for editing Text Fields.
Key in the details and making your selections for your new folder.

Editing the text fields After selecting the Edit button, observe and consider the dialog named Edit Text Fields.

Select the button named (+ Add Text Field).

Keying in the details for the text fields After selecting the button --- (+ Add Text Field) --- key in the details and make your selections for the new text field(s).

Text Fields in the dialog named Edit Text Fields will set the captions for the descriptive fields for items in the folder of interest.

  • Name: Key in the name

  • Description: Key in the description

  • Max Length: Key in the length

  • *Field is mandatory: Select / Do not select A maximum of three text fields can be added to describe the items that are intended for the folder of interest: then, select OK.
    After selecting OK, you will be returned to the dialog named Add Folder: scroll the dialog and consider the option to Include Image Field.

  • Include Image Field

When the check box is selected, key in your details for the image field.

  • Name: Key in the name
  • Description: Key in the description
  • Field is mandatory: Select / Do not select Select Save.

Adding More Folders

After saving your first new folder in your Content Library Folder Setup, continue adding more folders for your Content Library.

  • Again: to add a folder to your Content Library, select the blue button.
  • And: to commit your changes to the broadcast, select the green button.
    For the chosen folder, the fields that describe the items in the folder of interest are presented as text fields and an optional image field.
  • You can edit the chosen folder (and its fields)
  • You can delete the chosen folder Select the illuminated green button named (Push Changes to live) if your new folders are ready to go live.

Editing your Folders

After setting up multiple folders for your Content Library, any folder can be edited by selecting the Edit option.
Consider the dialog named Edit Folder: this dialog showcases the same fields and controls as the dialog named Add Folder.

  • Name
  • Description
  • Display Content Triggers
  • Minimum Re-Use Interval for Content Items
  • Default Duration for Content Items
  • Text Fields
  • Include Image Field Make your changes to your folder of interest and then select Save.

Deleting a Folder

After setting up multiple folders for your Content Library, any folder can be deleted by selecting the Delete option.
In the dialog, make your selection.
