RapidLink
In this article, you will find the essential information you need for understanding RapidLink in Rapid.
In this article, you will find the presentation of details on how to link radio station transmissions using RapidLink.
First Rapid Installation
- You setup the station(s) on the first Rapid with output(s) that are set for “Send To RapidLink”
Second Rapid Installation
- You add new station(s) on the second Rapid by selecting the station(s) with the output(s) that were set for “Send To RapidLink” on the first Rapid
Once linked, the station(s) originating from the first Rapid will be available on the second Rapid. The first Rapid will be able to enable/disable outputs and configure the content that is sent to the outputs. The second Rapid will be able to add destinations to the outputs from the first Rapid.
HOME | Overview | First Rapid
In your first Rapid, in “HOME | Overview”, select a station of interest from among your stations.
Station Dashboard | Outputs for the Selected Station | First Rapid
For your selected station in your first Rapid, consider the list of outputs.
Station Dashboard | Add an Output | Selected Station | First Rapid
From the station dashboard, select the button named (+ Add Output) and observe the dialog named Add Output.
Add an Output | Selecting a Candidate Output from the Collection | First Rapid
Select a candidate output from your collection of outputs:
- DAB DLS
- DAB Slideshow
- FM RDS
- HD Radio
- Text

After selecting a candidate output from your collection, observe the dialog for your chosen output.
For your chosen output, key in the details and for the RapidLink Mode, be sure to select Send To RapidLink.
Select Save and return to the station dashboard.
Returning to the Station Dashboard | Selected Station | First Rapid
In the dashboard for the selected station, the output of interest will showcase a destination named RapidLink.
NOTE
- For an output of interest with the destination named RapidLink, the associated station will be linkable from the second Rapid.
Station Dashboard | Edit Output vs Add Output | dialog, Edit (Chosen) Output | First Rapid
For your selected station in your first Rapid, from the station dashboard, you could choose to edit an output of interest.
Select the output of interest: then, select Edit to reveal the dialog named Edit (Chosen) Output.
For your chosen output, key in the details and for the RapidLink Mode, be sure to select Send To RapidLink.
Select Save and return to the station dashboard.
In the dashboard for the selected station, the output of interest will showcase a destination named RapidLink.
NOTE
- For an output of interest with the destination named RapidLink, the associated station will be linkable from the second Rapid.
Proceed to your second Rapid.
HOME | Overview | Second Rapid
In your second Rapid, in “HOME | Overview”, prepare to link a station from your first Rapid to be among your stations in your second Rapid.
Add Station | Second Rapid
From the overview, select the blue button named (+ Add Station) and observe the dialog named Add Station.
In the dialog, under the Config tab, look for the options named Station Mode and select the option named Link.
Add Station | Station Mode = Link | Second Rapid
After selecting Link, the dialog will change: select the drop-down list named Import Station Details From.
This list showcases stations from the originating (first) Rapid.
In the dialog, choose a station, select Save, and return to the overview for your second Rapid.
HOME | Overview | Second Rapid
Returning to your second Rapid, in “HOME | Overview”, look for the new station: the new station will be tagged with LINK.
Brilliant: you have linked radio station transmissions across two installations of Rapid using RapidLink.
